We are previewing the 2025 BMW M4 Coupe and Convertible: Elevating Every Aspect. BMW M4 is poised for further advancements with the upcoming BMW M4 Coupe and Convertible in 2025. Despite the 4 Series M4’s debut in 2021, the brand showcases substantial enhancements, incorporating cutting-edge features like the curved display, innovative exterior lighting, and a robust turbocharged inline-six engine.

BMW M4 – Increased Power for XDrives

Notably, the spotlight falls on the top-tier M4 trim, the Competition xDrive available for both coupe and convertible models. The latest iteration boasts 20 additional horsepower compared to its predecessor, with the inline-six engine delivering an impressive 523 hp to all four wheels.

This power boost propels the BMW M4 Competition coupe to 60 mph in a claimed 3.4 seconds, with the convertible variant slightly trailing at 3.6 seconds. Both models are electronically limited to 155 mph, but opting for the M Driver’s Package unlocks speeds of 174 mph for the convertible and 180 mph for the hardtop.

Dazzling Laser Technology in Taillights

A noteworthy achievement for the BMW M4 twins is the incorporation of laser lighting in the taillights. While LED lighting remains the primary source, a laser diode illuminates glass fiber bundles, creating a captivating 3D effect when lit. Previously seen in the limited-production BMW M4 CSL, this marks the first widespread use of this technology by BMW M4, suggesting its potential expansion across other models in the future.

Striking Headlight Innovations

Although the headlights don’t feature laser lighting, they receive a redesign with distinct and functional elements. High- and low beams now emanate from the same LED module, and new arrowhead-shaped daytime running lights serve as turn signals.

Revamped Interior with Curved Display

Inside, the M4 benefits from BMW’s latest curved display system, integrating a 12.3-inch instrument panel and a 14.9-inch infotainment screen. Operating on BMW Operating System 8.5, tailored for the M experience, the interior showcases BMW M4-specific graphics, a multi-colored tachometer, shift lights, and an M View for the Head-Up Display. However, this upgrade reduces physical buttons, replaced by digitized versions within dedicated menus, although many functions retain voice control.

Subtle Design and Feature Enhancements

Several subtle changes enhance the overall aesthetic and functionality of the BMW M4. From new wheel finishes and optional wheel configurations to redesigned BMW roundel and M badge treatments, each detail reflects the dedication to refinement. Interior updates include a new multi-functional steering wheel, optional M Alcantara, and new materials such as a Dark Graphite Matte finish and Sensatec wrap.

Pricing and Availability

The 2025 BMW M4 Coupe starts at $80,095, including the $995 destination charge, while the M4 Competition Coupe is priced at $84,195. Both models see a $1,000 increase from their 2024 counterparts. The M4 Competition xDrive Coupe is now $89,295, a $2,000 uptick, and the convertible is priced at $96,295. Worldwide production is set to commence in March at BMW’s Dingolfing plant.
